I purchased the navionics chart update from landfall navigation. You might try there however, they are very difficult to find. Follow the instructions to activate Navionics Updates with your old card to get all Navionics+ content and services. Go to, click on Downloads & Updates and plug in your new Navionics Updates card. I had the good fortune of finding a new navionics cf card reader, several years ago, on EBay. A Navionics Updates card will give you all Navionics+ content with one year of chart updates at a very modest price. I think that there are instructions for each procedure on the net and possibly on you tube. I don’t have that update volume number readily available. Visit your favorite Navionics dealer to find out about current promotions and the best update or upgrade option for you Find a Dealer. The final firmware update was a few years ago, and Raymarine has discontinued any further updates. Navionics Updates - navigation charts for chartplotters available on CF, SD and MSD cards. Starting from a week before your subscription expires, you can order a new updated card from and have it shipped to you. That involves a free download from Raymarine onto a separate cf card (64mb card) and installing the upgrade on the C80, prior to installing the new charts. Beware that you have to update the firmware on the C80 before upgrading to the new charts.

Once you download the data from Navionics onto your computer and onto the card, simply install the card in your C80. Again, don’t go over 256mb cause it isn’t going to work on the C80. Now you basically purchase the entire US & Bahamas and select the regions that you desire up to the capacity of your card. In years past you were able to buy cards for a general region, ie. Download and register charts or ask us to preload them to start you off. After twelve months update your card for 50 of the cost of a new chart and continue. I was cautioned that the processor in the C80 does not work well with larger cards. With Navionics+ you can can update your chart in any way you wish: change your chart format eg.
I used a San disk card, preferably one that is 256mb or less, I used a 128mb. This gives access to continuous real-time chart updates, enhanced satellite imagery and a vast data bank of points of interest (POI) giving information and contact details for marinas, fuel docks, boatyards and even nearby restaurants.It’s been a few years since I did the upgrade, so I am not up to date on the update procedure, so this info may not be 100% correct.
However, perhaps the most interesting aspect of Lighthouse Charts is the option to upgrade to Raymarine’s Premium subscription service. Navionics Updates Navionics+ and Navionics Updates, already available through authorized dealers, improve the way customers access cartography and boating information and ensure, through online updates, the charts reflect the most current data available for their GPS chartplotters. All you have to do is activate your subscription through the Chart Installer. It offers daily chart updates and advanced features. Two other specialist features which will appeal to fishing enthusiasts in particular are expert verified Fishing Hotspots, displaying intelligence on the best places to catch different species along with more detailed 1ft-depth contour lines, and RealBathy mapping which allows users to create their own underwater maps of uncharted areas using onboard sonar. A one-year subscription is included when you purchase a new Navionics card.

There is even an option to switch between Government and Leisure presentation modes the former being the very clean but basic style favoured by professional mariners which has almost no on-land information, the latter being a more colourful and richly detailed version that leisure boat owners may find more appealing. Both of the above could prove particularly useful when picking your way through busy harbours or heavily charted areas cluttered with information.
